The Word of God declares, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32 NKJV). The word “know” indicates an understanding of something rather than just the knowledge of it. In other words, “You shall understand the truth, and the truth you understand shall make you free.” The earlier a person begins to understand the Word of God, the greater impact those truths will be able to have on his or her life. Truths not understood are nonetheless truth, but they bring no spiritual freedom to the individual without understanding.

That makes a book like this such an important tool in the life of a parent who desires to “bring up a child in the way he should go.” In a beautifully illustrated Bible story, the revelation of God’s blessings through faith are brought out in a way that a child can grasp the simple truth and live it. When a child begins to understand the promises of God through covenant and starts learning how to release faith in that covenant - which is actually greater than Jacob’s covenant (Hebrews 8:6) – then he is beginning to walk in the blessings of God for a lifetime.

Bible stories can be no more than a story, or they can bring out the revelation of truth that God intended. No scientific study would tell you that having ring-streaked and spotted sticks would cause your animals to bear ring-streaked and spotted offspring. Celia beautifully unfolds the truth of seeing what cannot be seen as a part of the faith process (2 Corinthians 4:18). Jacob was blessed because he acted in faith and believed God for a miracle of increase in his life.

This book is written for children, but it will be a blessing to children and adults alike, because the revelations illustrated here are life to all who find them (Proverbs 4:22).

Celia has written a wonderful story, not only for children but for adults too. Even some adults do not understand that God keeps His promises if we have faith to believe Him. Teenagers need this book as badly as smaller children. And as parents read it to their smaller children, it will begin to instill faith in God in their hearts and start them on a lifestyle of faith.

Celia has done a favor for the body of Christ. I was blessed by the book and will get copies for my great-grandchildren.

As a grandmother and teacher of the Word, this book delights me! Celia Banks has created a beautiful storybook that blends key Bible truths with adorable animals in a captivating way. Children will love it…and learn important spiritual truths while they read. Every person with children in their life should consider this a must-have for their little ones.
